As a family we moved back to the lake district nearly 3 years ago and I set up my own holiday let cleaning and management business. Each year it has continued to grow, and now my mum Clare works alongside me getting holiday let's ready for all the guests visiting the Lake District. The second year back in the Lake District I then set up a horse livery yard at home on my farm. In 2024 me and my mum then decided to invest money into our new adventure 1 Sunset View, a holiday let different from all the ones I manage and somewhere for ourselves as a family to enjoy and escape to now and then.
1 Sunset View is a brand new lodge on the hill looking down over the lake at Port Haverigg Marina Village, Millom. We have slowly added all the little touches to make 1 Sunset View feel like a home away from home. For people to escape the hustle and bustle of life to sit back and chill out taking in all the beautiful views and sounds of the nature reserve around them. The lodge is in the quiet section of the park and on its own little cul-de-sac with only people walking past to access part of the nature reserve and a handful of other static caravans as neighbours. There's parking for two cars and a grassed section to play games on. Gradual steps up onto the decking with a gate that can be locked for safety. The decking then leads on to the main entrance door and if you continue to walk down the decking it wraps round to the front of the lodge to the french doors into the lounge area.
The decking has glass panelling at the front, so your view isn't spoiled when sitting out with a brew in hand in the morning to take in the lake and sea view and the sounds of nature. With plenty of space and seating for four guests to enjoy the outside and the view. The kitchen has a built in fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, hob, plenty of storage and drawer space. We have also supplied a toaster, air fryer, sandwich grill, pans, oven trays, frying pans, slow cooker, chopping boards, herbs, oil, vinegar, knife block, tupperware, wine glasses, champagne glasses, mugs, glasses, dinner sets, kids dinner sets, cutlery, cleaning equipment, washing machine pods, t towels, hand soap, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar and much more to help you enjoy your stay with ease. The dining table is located in the kitchen area with seating for 4 with space for a high chair (we can supply a high chair if needed)
The lounge has a comfy sofa, 2 chairs, foot stool and Highland cow bean bag, so plenty of seating for 4. Smart TV, loads of games, books, bluetooth sound system in the roof, WiFi and even an electric fire. Making a very cosy space to enjoy your stay with us, and don't forget the french doors leading out to the decking area.
Down the corridor the twin room faces the family bathroom. The twin room has a wardrobe, cupboards, bedside and plenty of plugs with some having USB ports built in. The beds will have linen on, towels on the beds for inside the lodge and a towel each for lake and beach use.
The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed, bedside drawers with lights, dressing table with a chair, mirror, hair dryer and some other bits to help you get ready, a comfy window seat for someone to enjoy reading a book or two, double sided wardrobe, ensuite bathroom and radio. Linen will be provided with towels on the bed for lodge use and separate towels for lake and sea use. The ensuite bathroom has a walk in shower, sink, toilet, and storage. We also provide hand wash, and hair and shower gel, just in case you've forgotten yours. The hair and shower gel is provided by a Cumbria company, The Bath house.
A damage deposit will be taken on booking.
